Consumers' willingness to pay (WTP) for processed fluted pumpkin based on sensory attributes in North-Central, Nigeria

Although there are diverse kinds of leafy vegetables in Nigeria, fluted pumpkin is one the most consumed. However, high perishability its leaves has been a source concern, which mild processing suggested literature as way out. Several studies have done on production and profitability pumpkins. none exist consumers' willingness to pay (WTP) for processed pumpkins based sensory/organoleptic attributes Nigeria. This study, therefore, fills this gap by investigating perception leaves, their WTP amount they willing pay, factors affecting WTP. Data used study were obtained using set pretested structured questionnaires an interview schedule, it was administered 120 consumers Ilorin, North-central Descriptive statistics logistic regression analysis analyse data. The logistics checked leaves. found evidence that – general acceptability, texture, colour, appearance, aroma - leaves; with 92.3% them while 34.2% premium more than conventional price fresh also revealed about sensory preferences positively influence pay. shows could be market product.
